Investigators Information

IRBco is governed by highest ethical standards and encourages Principal Investigators to follow these standards. We expect investigators to keep their research training updated and have provided information on resources in our training section. Investigators are expected to abide by ethical principles in the Belmont Report.

Principal Investigators are responsible to follow guidelines of their own institution as well as federal, state and local laws. Investigators should ensure that informed consent process is free of coercion and of any financial or other influence.

Maintaining research subject's privacy and confidentiality as outlined in HIPAA is an nvestigators' responsibility and they are expected to have safeguards to protect any vulnerable patients, including children, pregnant women and incarcerated population.
